DESC Climate

Our main climate station was established in 1977 and has moved short distances (<1000 m) in 1978 and 1982 to its present location near to the Dorset Environmental Science Centre. This station has monitored a variety of variables over the years and was initially maintained by the Canadian Centre for Inland Waters (CCIW) from 1976-1987. These variables include air temperature; air pressure; moisture; precipitation; wind speed and direction; and solar radiation.

DESC: Current Conditions

THELMA

The Harp Environmental Lake Monitoring Ark (aka THELMA for short) was deployed in the summer of 2010 to gather high resolution water quality and meteorology data for investigations of lake metabolism, climate change, and water, nutrient, and energy budgets (among other things) on Harp Lake. We thank the Harp Lake Association for their input into THELMA's design and for their support over this first year of operation.
